    President, Fall 2022

My name is Brooke-Lynn Thomas and I am honored to serve as Delta’s fall 2022 President! I am so excited to lead our Actives this coming semester and continue our amazing sisterhood here at the University of Redlands.

In the spring of 2022, we brought in an amazing new member class of two who have truly become the most wonderful additions to our sisterhood. We were able to provide a very tight-knit New Member Process experience to them in which all Actives really got to participate and focus on each of them individually and as a class which really brought all of us closer together. Our organization is full of strong, kind, hardworking, intelligent women who really live out all that Delta has stood for since 1910. We continue to represent Delta in our work throughout campus as volunteers, athletes, Maroon and Grey Student Ambassadors, intramural sports team members and so many other activities. We are all extremely excited to come back together and for what is to come here on campus as Redlands Greeks!

Over the summer we have had bi-weekly committee meetings to plan for the fall semester. We are working on small logistics that will ensure prosperity in Delta as well as brainstorming strategies for upcoming projects. It is clear to me that the commitment of all of our Actives is beyond compare and I feel privileged to be a part of this group of amazing leaders.

This fall we will be a small but might Active Circle of 18 women on-campus with three sisters abroad exploring the world. Though this number is smaller than anticipated or ideal, we now have the opportunity to create much deeper and closer bonds with each other. I plan on cultivating a “teamwork” mentality into all projects. This mentality was, at some point during COVID it seems, lost to the world and as leaders at Redlands I would like our women to be the first to bring it back!

It should be noted Greek Life at Redlands has taken a small dip in interest overall, unfortunately, and post-COVID life has diminished interest in joining Greek organizations nationwide. Over the summer, many presidents of Redlands Greek organizations have come together to work on strategies to build interest in “Going Greek” with the goal to increase participation in Rush and ultimately yield more New Members!

This fall I will continue to build on the work of the fall 2021 and spring 2022 presidents. Bonding and truly reconnecting is a top priority after such a long summer break has kept us physically apart. Ensuring that we reconnect after summer will aid in our ability to show potential New Members who we are both as Deltas and as strong women once Rush begins. As we go into another in-person semester, it is my goal to continue to cultivate love, laughter, lifelong friendship, sisterhood, and dedication in all the Actives.

Creating space for each sister to be who they are and to celebrate each other in everything they do is so important to me. I hope to empower each Active to take the positions they were elected to and run with them. The dedication to Delta is extremely apparent in all the Actives and Alumni. Everyone's participation and support is felt and very much appreciated. We are all ready and look forward to another year at the U of R and can’t wait to see all we accomplish as individuals and a sisterhood!

The D is for DELTA: Graduation Edition

by Liran Koropitzer '19 in Honor of the Class of 2020

D is for dreams, the things that will keep you going. Check off this one today and never stop your list from growing. You’ve accomplished so much to get where you are today, as the years stretch on, the pride will stay.

E is for Excitement. Your journeys have just begun. If you thought undergrad was great, just wait for all the adulting fun. The next decade before you will be one of growth and adventure, at least for the next few months you’re off the hook from online lecture.

L is for legacy, something I have no doubt that each and every one of you have made, at least I’d sure hope so after everything you’ve paid. Your time as an undergrad may have come to an end, but life is full of joys and surprises just waiting around the next bend.

T is for Tenacity. A trait each of you exude, I’m sure if someone had predicted this day, you’d laugh in their face and say “ya, right dude”.  If these events have shown us anything it’s your immense strength, no matter what knocks you down, you’ll keep on fighting and go to any length.

A is for alumni, which you now officially are. As you can see your Delta sisters have gathered together from near and far. No matter where your journey takes you next, know you’ll always have a friend, and to be completely honest, that’s what matters most in the end.
