    Jaida Mitchell

    President, Fall 2021

    Hello Lavender Ladies!

My name is Jaida Mitchell and I have the honor of being the President of Delta Kappa Psi for fall 2021! As President, I hope to remind all of our sisters just how amazing this sisterhood truly is. After a year of not being together in person, it is easy for us to feel disconnected at times. But, with a safe return planned for the fall, I hope we can all bond once again.

This spring we welcomed 17 amazing young women into our organization which brought our Initiated/Acive total to 60! Although we were all online, we managed to make the best of the situation by continuing our bonding events and hosting fun trivia games via Zoom.

After serving as one of the first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Chairs, I will continue to work to make Delta a more inclusive and safe space for all sisters and our communities as President. The DEI position was created to strengthen our support for one another and will hold special importance upon returning in-person in the fall.

Our Initiated/Active members look forward to campus housing being open, in-person classes, and the return of sports along with other extracurrricular activities. Since campus was closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and we were never in-person this year, many of our members have only met briefly or through a screen! We anxiously await the moment we can meet again in the Delta house to celebrate all we have overcome through the chaos of thie last year.

The fall semester will grant us a sense of normalcy that we can all look forward to. The possibility of growing our sisterhood and returning to campus keeps us all hopeful for what the future holds.

    Delta love,

    Jaida Mitchell '22

The D is for DELTA: Graduation Edition

by Liran Koropitzer '19 in Honor of the Class of 2020

D is for dreams, the things that will keep you going. Check off this one today and never stop your list from growing. You’ve accomplished so much to get where you are today, as the years stretch on, the pride will stay.

E is for Excitement. Your journeys have just begun. If you thought undergrad was great, just wait for all the adulting fun. The next decade before you will be one of growth and adventure, at least for the next few months you’re off the hook from online lecture.

L is for legacy, something I have no doubt that each and every one of you have made, at least I’d sure hope so after everything you’ve paid. Your time as an undergrad may have come to an end, but life is full of joys and surprises just waiting around the next bend.

T is for Tenacity. A trait each of you exude, I’m sure if someone had predicted this day, you’d laugh in their face and say “ya, right dude”.  If these events have shown us anything it’s your immense strength, no matter what knocks you down, you’ll keep on fighting and go to any length.

A is for alumni, which you now officially are. As you can see your Delta sisters have gathered together from near and far. No matter where your journey takes you next, know you’ll always have a friend, and to be completely honest, that’s what matters most in the end.
