Emily Merriman
Academic Chair, Fall 2026
My name is Emily Merriman, and I have the honor of service as Academics and Community Service Chair for the 2026 Fall Semester. I am a legacy and rushed Spring 2026 of my sophomore year. I am excited to jump right into an executive position!
Throughout my time at the University of Redlands, I have held a multitude of community service and academic related positions such as tutoring, peer mentoring, and new student advising!
As an education major, I have a passion for celebrating academic achievements, no matter how small. I believe that every student can and will be successful and that while everyone’s route looks different, that is the beauty of education. I strive to make academics something to be proud of, rather than intimidated by. The University of Redlands is home to students of all different educational backgrounds, allowing for diverse perspectives and unique learning styles. This is one of the beauties of our campus. Many of these differences lie within our sorority. Our sisters are members of a variety of majors, some even creating their own! Our sisterhood is built on diversity, and that is shown through not only our cultures, but our academic experiences and success.
Community Service is a pillar of the Greek community. Serving those in need brings our sisterhood closer and shows our surrounding community what Delta Kappa Psi truly stands for. As Community Service Chair, I aim to work closely with our future philanthropy to create a bond between the Redlands community and Delta that will last long beyond my time in this role. Deltas have served a variety of organizations, including Relay for Life, Family Service Association of Redlands, Ronald McDonald House, I Go To College and Far From Perfect Mustang Rescue. Deltas find true joy in being of service to those around them.
As Academics and Community Service Chair, I aim to create a strong connection not only within our sisterhood, but throughout the Greek community and larger campus.
