  • Making a Difference Outstanding Community Service Award

     

    The Delta Kappa Psi Alumnae Executive Council established the Making a Difference Outstanding Community Service Award in January 2020 to honor a current Initiated Member of Delta (1) who is making a significant contribution to her community through volunteering her time and talent and (2) whose dedication serves as a role model for her peers. 

     


     

  • Isabelle Goslan 2023

     

    Congratulations to Isabelle Goslan, our recipient of the 2023 Making a Difference Outstanding Community Service Award!

     

    The Delta Kappa Psi Alumni Executive Council established the Making a Difference Outstanding Community Service Award in May 2019 to honor a current active who is making significant contributions to her community through volunteering her time and talent and whose dedication serves as a role model for her peers.

     

    Isabelle was chosen by the Selection Committee in recognition of her having shown exceptional service and compassion by volunteering her time to various organizations on campus and in the community.

     

    Isabelle was a mentor for four months (182 hours) with Big Buddies, a children’s program at the UR that provides 1:1 mentorship with TK-12 students from the Redlands community. Isabelle was a volunteer tutor for eight months (208 hours) with Jasper’s Corner, a children’s tutoring program at the UR that provides academic assistance to learners in our community. At the Loma Linda University Vaccine Clinic, Isabelle served for eight months (112 hours) a translator speaking Spanish and basic Mandarin.

     

    As a DEI Intern at the UR, Isabelle created a webpage with detailed resources for DACA and Dreamer students, collaborating with Campus DEI and students in relevant affinity clubs for their input. She volunteered for 4 months (130 hours).

     

    At the Open Cultural Center in Barcelona, Isabelle spent 4 months (100 hours) helping migrants with tools to access opportunities and providing dinners for recently arrived Ukrainian refugees. This Delta plans on dedicating her life to serving immigrant communities in the United States through her future career and service work.

     

    Isabelle received a certificate and a monetary award, and her name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque that will hang in the Delta House. In addition, a donation will be made in her name to a charity of her choice.
