• In Spring 2004, Greeks Who Care developed an academic proposal and Greek Council voted to establish a minimum GPA for all Greek organizations.
- The students decided that it should be at/above the all-campus average after returning from a Greek conference where they learned what other Greeks were doing to promote academics.
- All organizations had one year to bring their GPA up to 3.0.
• In Spring 2004, IFC and Panhellenic voted to increase the GPA requirement to rush from a 2.3 to a 2.5. Beta Lambda requires a 2.7 to rush and women have to petition if they have lower than that.
• In Spring 2005, Greek Council developed the 3 Strike Policy for organizations who fall below a 3.0. currently Greek Council is reviewing the sanctions for this policy which will likely change.
• All campus average GPA – 3.0; this is verified each semester with the Registrar’s Office
• Greek Council petitioned Student Life to be able to take freshman new members. Their proposal included: freshman need over a 3.0 and 2 faculty recommendations and only those organizations that have over a 3.0 may take freshman.
